Sofia Airport surpasses 4,000,000 passengers in 2016
Sofia Airport has reported a record 4,076,897 passengers in the first 10 months of the year, having now (1st November) passed the total number of passenger in 2015.
In October 477,323 passenger used the airport, an increase of 33% compared to the previous year. Terminal 1 reached 262,000 – a doubling its numbers from 2015 and Terminal reached 215,000.
The number of passengers on international routes increased 35%, helped by Ryanair and Wizz, while domestic passenger rose by 4%, compared to October 2015.
There was also an increase of 26% in the number of charter flights to tourist destinations Greece, Turkey and Egypt.
