Over 4 million Passengers for the First 8 Months of 2017
Sofia Airport maintains a trend of positive results. In the first eight months of the year a total of 4 363 140 people passed through Sofia Airport, which is an increase of 41%compared to the same period last year. In August, Sofia Airport served 33% more passengers or a total of 615 544.
For the specified period, passengers on domestic flights increased by 41% and those on international scheduled flights – by 32%.
Tourist charter flights also marked an increase, growing more than twice compared to the same month in 2016. In August, the most desirable destinations were the resorts in Greece, Turkey and Spain.
Aircraft movements
A total of 5 260 aircraft were served at Sofia Airport in August 2017, which is nearly 14% more than the previous year.
