
Sofia Airport Reports 4.1% Increase of Passengers on International Flights in H1
Sofia Airport reported Monday a growth of 4.1 per cent on passengers on international flights in the first half of 2015. The passengers during this period totaled 1,913,352 which was 75,000 more than this time last year.
The passenger flow increased by 5 per cent for the regular services. The most popular destinations were London,Vienna, Milano, Paris and Brussels.
The largest number of passengers during the period under review used Wizz Air, Turkish Airlines, British Airways, Qatar Airways and Aegean Airlines.
Passengers increased on domestic flights: they totaled 64,492 on the regular service from Sofia to Varna and Bourgas, which was 9.7 per cent less than the year before.
Passengers on package tours were 5,400 fewer than in the first half of 2014 despite the 17 per cent increase for Bulgaria Air.
In the first half of 2014, Sofia Airport boasted a 11 per cent increase of the passengers on regular services compared to the same time of 2013.
